Dhanbad Firing Arrest: Nirsa Police Nab Prime Accused Yuvraj Singh, Pistol Recovered

Dhanbad: One person was arrested in connection with the firing at Kalimati village under Nirsa police station area on Jan 1.Following an argument with Niranjan Kumar Chauhan over a monetary transaction, prime accused, Yuvraj Singh (20), allegedly opened fire with a pistol, creating panic in the area. Based on the written complaint submitted by the informant, Nirsa police registered a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act against five persons.The police arrested Singh, a resident of Matadih Colony under Nirsa police station, on Jan 3. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Nirsa SDPO Rajat Manik Bakhla said that a country-made pistol used in the firing was recovered on the basis of the accused’s confession. He further said that Singh has a criminal history, with previous cases registered against him at the Nirsa police station. The SDPO added that police raids are continuing to arrest the remaining absconding accused and assured that all those involved will be brought to justice soon.
