Ranchi: Bombay high court Justice Farhan Parvez Dubas claimed the winner’s trophy in the singles category after defeating Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas of Kerala high court in the second All India Judges Badminton Tournament 2026 which concluded on Sunday at the Mega Sports Complex in Khelgaon, Hotwar.
In the singles women’s category, Orrisa high court Justice Savitri Ratho claimed the title after defeating her opponent Justice Rekha Borana of Rajasthan high court. Justice Nupur Bhati of the Rajasthan high court stood third in the women’s singles category.
The men’s doubles winners’ trophy was claimed by Bombay high court Justices Farhan Parvez Dubas and Sarang V. Kothwal, while the mixed doubles trophy in the tournament was won by a team of Orissa high court Judges V. Narasingh and Savitri Ratho.
The two-day tournament was inaugurated on Jan 3 by Jharkhand high court Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan. A total of 31 judges of nine high courts participated in the tournament. The tournament was divided into four categories – men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles and mixed doubles. Judges of Allahabad, Bombay, Madras, Rajasthan, Telangana, Kerala, Orissa, Karnataka and Jharkhand high courts participated in the championship.
Speaking to TOI, Jharkhand HC Justice Ananda Sen said, “The Orissa HC had organized the tournament last year for the first time. I had participated in the tourney with fellow Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay and we had decided to follow the league and host the tournament in Jharkhand,” he added.
