Ranchi: The admission process for the 2026–27 academic session at the entry level, including KG, LKG, and nursery, commenced in major private schools here with the institutes following varied timelines and criteria.Several reputed schools issued their application forms from the first week of November and have already completed initial stages of selection, while others began the process in early December or are preparing to do so in the coming months.According to the school authorities, admissions in institutes like Kairali School, Delhi Public School Ranchi, and Don Bosco School are already closed, with the application window no longer available.Meanwhile, Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamali kept its application process open, which began on December 15, and will continue till Jan 15.Several other schools, including Sharda Global School, Sarala Birla Public School, Cambrian Public School, and Oxford Public School, are continuing their admission process till the declaration of results. In contrast, some institutes, including DAV Alok Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, are expected to release their admission forms later, around February or March.
School officials said the admission procedures vary across institutes. In several schools, admissions are finalised through interaction or assessment sessions, where a child’s behaviour, basic understanding, and parent–child rapport are evaluated.The principal of the Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamali, Samarjit Jana, said, “Some schools also give preference based on the proximity of the applicant’s residence to the school. Parents were advised to carefully review eligibility criteria and keep all required documents ready before applying.”Ramesh Agarwal, a parent, said, “Online admissions made the process much easier for parents, but with different timelines and criteria across schools, staying informed and prepared is essential.”
