Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at different paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates collectively hold a tally of 115, with 10 seats won and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 seats short of the majority mark if current trends hold. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55 seats, all leads and no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, sitting on a tally of 179, with 11 seats won and 168 leads. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 wins and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, where 16 seats decide a majority across 30 constituencies, NDA has crossed the majority mark on tally, with 13 seats won and 5 leads adding up to 18. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF holds a tally of 87, with 68 seats won and 19 leads, already past the majority mark on combined count. LDF has 30 wins and 6 leads for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 17 seats in Kerala.
