Indian Assistant High Commission official found dead inside Chattogram mission premises in Bangladesh: Report
NEW DELHI: An official of the Indian High Commission in Chattogram was found dead inside the mission premises on Tuesday, according to a report by bdnews24.com.The deceased was identified as Narendra, 38, who was serving as an assistant protocol officer at the Indian mission. He hailed from Chandigarh in India. His body was recovered from the premises of the Indian Assistant High Commission on Zakir Hossain Road in Chattogram’s Khulshi area.Quoting police officials, bdnews24.com reported that the body was found in front of the bathroom door of a data entry room on the second floor of the old visa centre building.Chattogram Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner for Public Relations Aminur Rashid told bdnews24.com, “We primarily suspect that the official died while going to the bathroom at some point during the night.”Police suspect the official may have suffered a cardiac arrest, though the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed. Authorities said the body was sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy after completing the required formalities for a foreign national.The investigation into the death is underway, and officials are awaiting the postmortem report to determine the exact cause.
