Lee Yi-kyung reveals he was flooded with cursing DMs following 'Marry My Husband' performance

Actor Lee Yi-kyung recently graced the set of ‘The Seasons – Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet’ on March 1, where he engaged in a candid conversation with the renowned MC, Lee Hyo-ri.

As the interview kicked off, Lee Hyo-ri wasted no time in addressing the elephant in the room, acknowledging the widespread backlash Yi-kyung faced for his portrayal of the despicable husband in the drama ‘Marry My Husband’. With a touch of humor, she remarked, “I heard many people exploded with anger because of this person recently. He was criticized a lot for playing the role of a mean and trashy husband”, as quoted by Kbizoom.

Reflecting on his unexpected rise to infamy, Yi-kyung revealed, “I watched your program and thought, ‘It’s so fun. They can call me whenever they need me’, but I didn’t expect them to call me right away”. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Lee Hyo-ri reassured him of his talents, affirming, “You’re doing great these days. There’s no reason to miss the opportunity to invite you”.

During the interview, Lee Hyo-ri questioned, “Were there any lines that even you disagreed with?” To the surprise of many, Yi-kyung cited moments like, “Is the baby my child?” and “Women shouldn’t be like that”.

However, amidst the criticism and controversy, Yi-kyung found an unexpected silver lining, confessing with a hint of amusement, “I received cursing messages through DMs from people all over the world (after appearing in ‘Marry My Husband’). But I felt good about it”, earning laughter from the audience.
