J&K: One jawan killed in Bandipora encounter

A soldier was killed in a fierce gun battle with militants in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter began on Wednesday evening after a joint team of army and police launched a search operation in the Buthoo forests of the district following a tip-off. The militants opened fire at the security personnel, triggering the gun battle.
