Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi has fired back at Trump's claim that a multi-nation coalition would send warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, pointing out that Washington named five countries without a single confirmation. "The US is now begging others, even China, to help it make Hormuz safe," he wrote. Iran maintains the strait is closed only to vessels of its enemies, two Indian-flagged tankers crossed safely on Saturday. But 17 maritime incidents have been reported since February 28, with 13 confirmed attacks. The US Navy has told the shipping industry escorts are not feasible. And Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has amplified Araghchi's call for Gulf states to expel foreign forces.
