US President Donald Trump has revealed that a planned American military strike on Iran was temporarily placed on hold after requests from Gulf leaders including Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said the attack had been scheduled for the following day but was paused because “serious negotiations” were underway. However, Trump also warned that the US military remains prepared for a “full, large-scale assault” on Iran if talks fail. Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that “dialogue does NOT mean surrender” and insisted Tehran would not retreat from its “legal rights.”
