Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met China’s top diplomat Wang Yi as tensions escalate in the Strait of Hormuz amid a U.S.-Iran standoff. Chinese state media confirmed the high-level talks, the first since the recent U.S.-Israel conflict involving Iran. The meeting comes ahead of a planned visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to China, placing Beijing in a delicate diplomatic position. With energy security and trade routes at stake, China, led by Xi Jinping, is pushing for stability and restoration of maritime passage, while Washington reportedly urges Beijing to influence Tehran.
