Fossilized dinosaur remains were presented at the Museum of Natural History of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru. Paleontologist Rodolfo Salas-Gismondi said in Lima that the skull was found in the Ocucaje desert, department of Ica, and belongs to a very archaic cetacean, about 36 million years old. The 4-foot-long Basilosaurus skull was discovered last year by a team of researchers led by paleontologist Mario Urbina. It is estimated that the newly discovered Basilosaurus is one of the largest predators, at around 42 feet in length.
