Santhy Balachandran has penned a heartfelt note as her film ‘Masthishka Maranam’ is gearing up for release. The film helmed by Krishand is set for release on February 27. In a note shared on Instagram, Santhy said that she played a ‘fun character’ in the film. “While I was hibernating, @krishand_ and his incredible team were putting the final touches to this zany cyberpunk courtroom drama — one that holds up a mirror to a world obsessed with image. Thrilled to have played a fun character in Masthishka Maranam, featuring a talented ensemble headlined by @rajishavijayan In theatres from Feb 27!” the actress said.

What you should know about ‘Masthishka Maranam’?

Directed by Krishand, who is known for his works ‘Aavasavyuham’ and ‘Purusha Pretham’, ‘Masthishka Maranam’ is a cyberpunk drama. The film features Rajisha Vijayan and Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju in the lead roles. Vishnu Agasthya, Divyaprabha, Jagadeesh, and Suresh Krishna will be seen in some pivotal roles in the film. Meanwhile, Santhy Balachandran has crafted the additional screenplay and dramaturgy for the 'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' starring Kalyani Priyadarshan. As the film emerged as a blockbuster, she spoke about how the success is beyond money. "This is about more than than the money our film has made. To see a film led by a female protagonist do these numbers means everything. May this open doors for more stories featuring women front and centre.
May it pave the way for more women to work in all domains of cinema," she said in an Instagram note. She further added, "To the men who made this moment possible, thank you for being the allies we need. Thank you for walking the talk." The second instalment of the franchise will go on floors by September, Kalyani Priyadarshan recently confirmed.
