MEERUT: Two boys, aged 13 and 14 years, were detained and sent to a correction home on Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl multiple times over the past week in a village in Baghpat district.Police said the incident came to light on Monday evening when the girl, a nursery student, complained of severe abdominal pain and was taken for a medical examination, which confirmed the assault, revealing multiple injuries to her private parts. The girl's father lodged a police complaint alleging that the accused, students of Classes 7 and 9 at a private school, lured her while she was playing outside and took her to a house nearby, where they violated her. Investigating officer Virendra Singh told TOI that the boys enticed the child under the pretext of playing hide-and-seek. "They took her to an unattended room used for storing agricultural equipment in a field nearby," he said. The assault allegedly continued for nearly a week. "The accused threatened to throw the girl into a pond if she told anyone about the incident. Since both boys were known to the girl's family, her parents let her go with them. Both the accused have confessed to the crime and admitted to watching obscene clips on their mobile phones," Singh added.A case has been registered under sections 70(2) (gangrape) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of BNS and section 5G/6 of Pocso Act.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
