The area is famous for high-end restaurants serving diverse international cuisine. The Xintiandi is where the old Shanghai meets the modern Shanghai. This is a favourite hangout zone for affluent locals, expats as well as tourists. Stroll around the alleys and marvel at the Shikumen structure which is an outcome of Chinese and Western blend of architectural styles from 19th century.
