Khao Sok National Park

The Khao Sok National Park is, interestingly, one of the oldest rainforests on the planet, dating back to a whopping 160 million years. With endless waterfalls and towering limestone formations, this 740 square kilometre national park is home to several hundred species of plants, birds and animals including elephants, tigers, wild cats, bears, bats and deer. And yes, snakes can also be found in large numbers so be careful while you can. Khao Sok is the 22nd national park in the country and was established by the Royal Forest Department in 1980. It includes as many as 12 protected areas including some islands belonging to the Andaman Sea.
The Khao Sok National Park receives the maximum amount of rain in Thailand and it is only between the months of December to April that it is relatively drier. The park is a four hour bus/taxi ride away from Phuket and the journey should cost you around 3000 Baht, depending on the transport service. Upon reaching your destination, you could hire a tour guide for an entire day by paying 1000 Baht.
