For the cost of a single journey on the London underground more or less, the savvy London tourist can get an amazing view and alternative perspective of East London and the skyscrapers of the city from this Gondola (It is the only one in existence in the capital). The Emirates Air Line traverses the Thames between Emirates Greenwich peninsula and the Emirates Royal Docks terminal. The Greenwich Peninsular has been transformed from a derelict gas works into one of London’s most significant new and growing business, residential, leisure, and entertainment districts. Thus it would be a shame to miss this exhilarating opportunity to cross the Thames. There is the added excitement of being suspended 90 m above the water, right under the flight path of airlines taking off from City Airport. You will be able to see the impressive dome of the O2 centre, the Olympic Park, the Thames Barrier, London’s largest exhibition space Excel, the Cutty Sark, and many more sites at this end of London. On the north side of the river, Newham has seen a great deal of investment as one of the Olympic boroughs, and the Royal Docks with 122 hectares of prime waterfront land is fast becoming a world class destination to live, work and visit. The Siemens Sustainability Centre, known as ‘The Crystal’ is both architecturally and sustainably modern, but also home to the world’s largest exhibition on the future of cities.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
