A firm favourite since the Olympics and part of London 2012 post games legacy, the park is most definitely a place for the people, and all are welcome. This beautiful space interweaves in and around the shadows cast by the majestic Olympic Stadium, ArcelorMittal Orbit, Velodrome, and my personal favourite – the Aquatics centre, whose architecture resembles a ‘stingray.’ With a range of trails to explore, this huge park is a must see, these include a ‘London 2012’ trail; ‘Art in the Park Trail’; ‘Landscape and Biodiversity Trail; and ‘People behind the park Trail.’ This is a place to explore flora and fauna, but also to people watch by spotting visitors from all over the world who have come to relive the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The park is carefully landscaped to create different sections for different tastes. This means that the southern environment of manicured gardens and promenades, are in contrast to the northern environment of more rustic, rural, and wilder zones. The waterways, meadows, wetlands and ponds are the places to spot a whole variety of wildlife that you would have simply not expect in the middle of a major city. Stop by the information office in the park, and pick-up a free ‘wildlife and plant guide’ which will enable you to keep your eyes fixed and spot a variety of species.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
