There is over 180 ac. to explore at Spring Preserve, part museum and part garden attraction that offers something little different than casinos and glitzy hotels. It is only about 10-15 min drive from the strip and is open seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm. The Origen Museum is one of the most popular attractions here and boasts of everything, i.e., from documentary films to multimedia historical recreations to live animal habitats. There are over 75 permanent exhibits for you to explore here. Kids will love the Flash Flood exhibit where they can experience the feeling of what a real flash flood is like. If you visit here during the fall and spring, make sure to go to the butterfly exhibit which features free-flying butterflies and gorgeous plants. The NV Energy Foundation Sustainability Gallery is where you can learn more about the future of Las Vegas, that is know about plans for sustainability, water conservation and more through interactive exhibits. Other amazing things to check out at Spring Preserve is the Nevada State Museum, the solar powered home on-site and the almost four miles of trails that you can walk.
