The Grove, located in the Financial District, is a magical getaway. Al fresco dining for those particularly glorious days is available, and during days when it is cold and miserable, the inside option provides a secret world. Large trees “grow” from floor to ceiling and light up with magical fairy lights. The result is a snug, comfortable cafe that seems a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the streets outside. The hidden forest feel is an oasis in the city and provides a space for relaxation and for community development.
The owner is originally from NYW so it wouldn’t be the same if he didn’t offer a hot pastrami sandwich on the menu ($13.95) or a meatball sandwich. All meals we had were big, hearty and reasonably priced.
Don’t miss: cappuccino with hot pastrami sandwich on rye bread.
