Popular plate: The delicious Middle Eastern-style moussaka sees traditional lamb replaced by hearty layers of grilled eggplant, tomato, potato and lentils.

With a nod to her visual arts training, culinary director Marisa Bertocchi's vegetarian creations reach the tables at this upscale Holland Village eatery looking like miniature sculptures. It's tempting not to disturb them, but flavourful dishes including the Absolut vodka pasta and baked ricotta, and the spinach and feta filo with ratatouille are too delicious to resist.
Singapore's first Mediterranean vegetarian restaurant also caters to the culinary needs of vegan, ovo-lacto and Jain vegetarians. The cosy, earth-toned setting entices many to stay on for dessert.
