Filmmaker Rima Das has been nominated for Best Director at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) 2023 for her film 'Tora's Husband'. It will release in India on March 14 through PVR Cinemas. Presented in multiple languages, the film celebrates cultural diversity. 'Village Rockstars', India's official entry to the Oscars is set to launch on September 28, in seven cities. The independent filmmaker, Rima Das, produced, directed and shot the film by herself with the help of one camera and one light. She will represent India at the forthcoming Academy Awards in the best foreign language film category.

Just like in her previous three films, this one also calls for celebration of life while many things are left for the audience to understand and realize. Speaking on the sidelines of a KIFF event, the filmmaker who hails from Assam and made critically acclaimed films like ‘Village Rockstars’ and ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ insisted that it’s her most challenging film till date.
