International awards galore for Rima Das

International awards continue to galore for Indian filmmaking’s latest sensation Rima Das as she has been awarded at the ongoing Cleveland International Film Festival also.
Her second directorial ‘Bulbul Can Sing’, earned her the Best Director award at the Dublin International Film Festival earlier, before being honoured with the Someone To Watch award at the Cleveland International Film Festival.
Rima Das’ earlier movie ‘Village Rockstars’ (2017) was also screened at the Cleveland Film Festival. The festival further honoured the National award-winning director with an artwork by a local artist to commemorate the prestigious award.
While speaking about the latest awards the filmmaker explained: "Both Village Rockstars and Bulbul Can Sing portray strong women characters at its heart. It's feels nice to see the critics and audience alike have welcomed such stories. It also shows us that it doesn't matter whether the film is directed by a male or female filmmaker. I would be happy to see more and more women in the industry shine and also open windows for fellow women."
