While it has not been made official, the main event for WWE Backlash 2026 is expected to be Roman Reigns defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu. The OTC won the title from CM Punk in the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night 2. On the RAW after WrestleMania, Fatu came out to confront Reigns and set his sights on the World title. Reigns accepted the match the following week; however, Fatu has been able to gain the upper hand on him most every week, leaving him lying on the mat. However, it will not be an easy task for Fatu to dethrone a megastar like Reigns. With Backlash approaching, it remains to be seen which Samoan superstar will walk out with the World title. Also read: WWE releases 2026: List of all superstars, statements post-firing by TKO and more
