Cam Skattebo made people stop and listen after his latest podcast talk. The New York Giants running back spoke on March 10 on the “Bring The Juice” podcast and shared his thoughts on CTE, a serious brain condition linked to repeated head hits in football. His answer came out very direct and quickly became a talking point online. When host Frank Dalena asked if he believes CTE is real, Skattebo did not hold back.
“No, (CTE) is an excuse,” Cam Skattebo said.
His words stood out because CTE has been widely studied and discussed in football for years. What made it more surprising was that the conversation did not stop there. Skattebo continued agreeing with another strong claim during the same talk, which added more attention to the moment.
Cam Skattebo questions CTE and asthma in “Bring The Juice” podcast with Frank Dalena
As the talk went on, Frank Dalena shared his own view, saying he thinks asthma is “fake.” Cam Skattebo did not disagree. Instead, he backed the statement right away.
“I think asthma is an excuse, too,” Cam Skattebo said.
He even supported the host’s opinion by adding, “That’s a good take.”
These comments quickly spread across social media, as both CTE and asthma are serious health topics. CTE, in particular, has been linked to several former football players, and research on it has been covered by groups like the Boston University CTE Center.
Because of that, hearing an active NFL player dismiss it so directly caught a lot of attention.
Cam Skattebo’s rookie season with New York Giants and team’s 2026 NFL draft plans
Away from the podcast, Cam Skattebo had a mixed but promising start to his NFL career with the New York Giants. The team picked him in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, he showed good signs on offense before his year was cut short.
He recorded 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries. He also added 207 receiving yards and two touchdowns from 23 catches in eight games. His season ended early after an ankle injury in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Giants struggled overall and finished the 2025 season with a 4–13 record. Because of that, they now hold the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Reports suggest the team may focus on defense, with names like Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs, and Mansoor Delane being linked as possible options.
Cam Skattebo has said he expects to be ready for training camp in July, which could be a big boost for the team as they look to improve next season.
