Mojang has rolled out the Minecraft Bedrock 26.20 update across all platforms, and it is arguably the most feature-packed release in recent times. The main highlights of the new version are the experimental Chaos Cubed features, including the brand-new Sulfur Cube mob, Sulfur Caves biome, and Sulfur block.Besides the Chaos Cubed introductions, the new version has also introduced the Closed Captions accessibility feature and marks the debut of the Party System. Chaos Cubed Experimental Features

Sulfur Cubes
  • A brand-new mob found in Sulfur Caves with an appetite for blocks - feed it different blocks to change its physical behaviour
  • Knockback is now directionally affected by the attacker's hit angle, position, and damage
  • Hitting left sends it right and vice versa; hitting from above sends it along the ground; hitting from below sends it upward
  • Greater damage results in greater knockback distance
Sulfur Springs
  • Found across the Overworld, identifiable by Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks and noxious gas above them
  • Digging beneath a Sulfur Spring reveals a Sulfur Cave
Potent Sulfur
  • A new block that creates bubbling hot pools when placed beneath water
  • Generates bubble columns and noxious gas, which triggers nausea in players and nearby mobs
Sulfur Caves
  • A new cave type featuring shallow pools, glow lichen, yellow Sulfur blocks, and red Cinnabar blocks
  • Two new full block sets, Cinnabar and Sulfur, are available for building, with stairs, slabs, bricks, and more

Accessibility

  • Added Closed Captions with customisable sound, position, and duration options
  • Fixed incorrect UI scales when changing resolution
  • Damage tilt slider now affects the rotation of the player's hands

Party System (Beta)

  • Create a party of up to 15 players and follow the party leader seamlessly from world to world, including into Realms and featured servers
  • Party Text Chat keeps your group connected across worlds, separate from in-game world chat
  • Available on Xbox, Windows, Android, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch - iOS support coming soon

Realm Hub

  • New Realm Hub introduced as a home base for all things Realms
  • Administrator Role - Realm owners can now promote trusted players to help manage the world, members, and settings
  • Admin Log - tracks actions taken by administrators for full accountability
  • Story Feed - a social hub for sharing screenshots and celebrating major Minecraft milestones
  • Timeline - shows who has been playing on your Realm over the past month
  • Subscription management now accessible directly from the Realm Hub

Baby Mob Fixes (Tiny Takeover Follow-Up)

  • Baby Squid and Baby Glow Squid hitboxes are now correctly bound to the mob
  • Baby Turtle now has swimming animations
  • Baby Striders no longer float above the ground
  • Baby Zombie Piglin's snout texture fixed to be front-facing
  • Baby Zombies no longer levitate when riding baby mobs
  • Baby Wolves' hind legs now rotate correctly while sitting
  • Baby Camel, Baby Hoglin, and Baby Zoglin hitbox sizes increased to match model geometry
  • Baby Panda, Baby Goat, Baby Snifflet, Baby Dolphin, and Baby Fox textures all corrected for consistency
  • Golden Dandelion growth particles now emit from above baby mobs, not inside them
  • Baby mobs no longer show green growth particles when fed, while growth is stopped by a Golden Dandelion

Blocks

  • Grass Blocks can now spawn Tall Grass when bone mealed
  • Tall Seagrass no longer breaks when generated using Bone Meal
  • Blocks can now only be placed above a Flowerpot when sneaking
  • Four Sulfur Spikes can now be crafted into one Sulfur block

Gameplay

  • Fixed knockback effect to behave more like Java Edition
  • Smelting damaged armor now outputs nuggets
  • Fixed Minecarts on the same track not properly transferring momentum when colliding

Sounds

  • Adult Pigs and Baby Pigs now have eating sounds
  • Trumpet Note Block instrument added to all Copper variants
  • Baby spawn sounds now play at the correct pitch for Baby Pig, Cat, Chicken, Horse, and Wolf

User Interface

  • Crafting preview now shows the correct wood material variants
  • Fixed a bug where emojis were not rendering in the small text tooltip in the hotbar
  • Furnace recipes now unlock when you collect the corresponding material (Experimental)

Mobs

  • Villagers move at the correct speed when heading to workstations
  • Librarians no longer offer Name Tags; they now offer Red or Yellow Candles at the Master Level
  • Mobs now correctly bounce after contact with Slime Blocks and Beds, rather than bouncing mid-air
