NAGPUR: Continuing their superb performance, Rohan Gurbani and Ritika Thaker stormed into the quarterfinals of the Ch Ranbir Singh Memorial 28th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championship at Rohtak (Haryana) on Friday. It was a busy day for both Rohan and Ritika, students of Centre Point School, as they won four matches each in a day to book their berths in the last eight.Second seed Rohan first downed Ravi and later in the evening accounted for Manipur's Dinnku Sing Konthouiam to enter the U-13 boys singles quarters.The fourth seeded pair of Rohan and Sudhanshu Bhure also performed well to secure their place in the last eight.However, it was curtains for Sudhanshu in the U-13 boys singles when the eleventh seed city shuttler went down fighting against sixth seed Srikar Madina of Andhra Pradesh in the pre-quarters.Ritika, seeded eighth in the U-15 girls singles, prevailed over ninth seed Deyashi Kanjibillya of Jharkhand in the round of 16.The third seeded pair of Ritika and Simran Singhi (Mumbai Suburban) lived up to their reputation to sail into the U-15 girls doubles quarters.Results:(Round 3): U-13 boys singles: 2-Rohan Gurbani bt Ravi (Haryana) 21-10, 21-14; 11-Sudhanshu Bhure bt Harsh Arora (Haryana) 22-20, 26-24.
