Former NFL receiver Jordan Shipley hospitalized with severe burns after accident

Former NFL wide receiver Jordan Shipley is in critical but stable condition after suffering severe burns in an accident at his ranch in Texas. The incident took place near his hometown of Burnet on Tuesday, according to a statement released by his family.Shipley, 40, was reportedly operating a machine on his ranch when it suddenly caught fire. Although he managed to free himself, he suffered serious burns before escaping the flames.After the accident, Shipley was able to reach one of his ranch workers, who immediately drove him to a nearby hospital. Playing from 2006 to 2009, he became one of the most productive receivers in the program’s history.In his senior season in 2009, Shipley recorded 116 receptions for 1,485 yards, setting school records. He finished his college career as Texas’ all-time leader in receptions and was a two-time All-American.Shipley was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact as a rookie, catching 52 passes for 600 yards.However, injuries limited his professional career.
