Two-time World Championship bronze-medallist PV Sindhu made it to the semi-finals of the women's singles badminton beating world no.2 Wang Yihan in straight games, while Greco-Roman wrestler Hardeep Singh lost his first round match to exit the Games.

They are joined in the final by Milan Trajkovic of Cyprus, Spain's Orlando Ortega, US pair Devon Allen and Ronnie Ash and Canada's Johnathan Cabral.
