Vaikuntha Ekadashi 2025: Date, Parana Time, Puja Rituals and Significance
Vaikuntha Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious Ekadashis and this is going to be this year's first and prominent Ekadashi. On this sacred day, devotees honor Lord Vishnu. Each month Ekadashi falls on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. Devotees believe that by observing this holy day with devotion and fasting, it opens the gates to Vaikuntha (heaven) and removes all the sins of devotees. The day holds a great spiritual and religious significance. This is a major festival of South India celebrated in all the temples of Lord Vishnu. Vaikuntha Ekadashi is being observed today i.e., on January 10, 2025.

According to the Hindu calendar, Vaikuntha Ekadashi occurs during the Dhanur solar month. In Tamil traditions, this Shukla Paksha Ekadashi (the waxing phase of the moon) is called Dhanurmasa or Margazhi month. Vaikuntha Ekadashi is observed according to the solar calendar, it can take place during either the Pausha or Margashirsha month of the Hindu lunar calendar.
Vaikuntha Ekadashi holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This day is celebrated with immense joy and happiness in the temples of South India especially in Tirupati Temple, where a large number of devotees visit the temple and express their gratitude to the Lord Venkateswara. It is believed that those who observe fast on this Ekadashi with full devotion and dedication, they get blessed by Lord Vishnu and directly goes to Vaikuntha Dham. They successfully attain the liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Devotees should understand that breaking the fast is equally important so one must break it during the Parana time which is at the time of sunrise or just after the sunrise depending upon the Panchang. Those, who are unable to break their fast in the morning time, so they can break it after Madhyahna as this time period is not considered auspicious.

Vaikuntha Ekadashi 2025: Puja Vidhi
- Fasting: Devotees take a sankalp of observing strict fast for the Vaikuntha Ekadashi. One must osberve the fast by following the proper guidelines and break the fast on Dwadashi Tithi.
- Offering Prayers: One must light a diya, and offer various sacred items to Lord Vishnu and seek blessings.
- Chant Mantras: Chanting mantras and stotram are very important on the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi and ask for blessings.
- Visiting Temple: Devotees should visit the temple on this sacred day to offer prayers and please Lord Vishnu.
Importance of Parana Time:
