Ranjeet and Varsha Usgaonkar visit BMC’s 29th Mumbai flower show
Veteran actor Ranjeet, actress Varsha Usgaonkar and film and television actor Ekta Jain attended the 29th Mumbai Flower Show at Veermata Jijamata Udyan, Byculla. Organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the three-day exhibition held from February 6-8 drew large crowds with its creative floral displays. Jeetendra Pardeshi, Superintendent of Gardens, BMC, thanked the celebrity guests and encouraged citizens to visit the exhibition with their families before it concludes on Sunday.
Held annually for nearly three decades with a unique theme, this year’s show was based on “musical”, featuring floral replicas of musical instruments. A special floral tribute to Lata Mangeshkar was showcased. The BMC tied up with Japan this year to promote Japanese bonsai plants. With Green Expo 2027 set to be held in Japan, BMC officials also visited the country to exchange knowledge on plant cultivation.
Ranjeet said, “I have a deep love for flowers and plants. I grow vegetables, flowers, and plants on my terrace at home. The way musical instruments have been created using flowers this year is truly amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition.” Ekta Jain praised the BMC’s long-standing efforts and said she also grows plants at home. She added that the musical theme is “absolutely worth watching” and urged people to visit the exhibition.
