Shinzo Abe death live updates: Shinzo Abe's body arrives in Tokyo, funeral on Tuesday

The body of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived at his home city, Tokyo, on Saturday, a day after he was fatally assassinated during a campaign speech in the western Japan city of Nara. Local media has reported that a night vigil will be held on Monday and his funeral will be held on Tuesday. Stay with TOI for all updates:

A man was arrested for attempted murder after former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe was apparently shot on Friday while delivering a stump speech, local media reported. The man appeared to be in his 40s and a gun had been confiscated, said public broadcaster NHK, citing police sources. Local police were not immediately able to comment when contacted by AFP.
