Shinzo Abe death live updates: Shinzo Abe's body arrives in Tokyo, funeral on Tuesday
The body of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived at his home city, Tokyo, on Saturday, a day after he was fatally assassinated during a campaign speech in the western Japan city of Nara. Local media has reported that a night vigil will be held on Monday and his funeral will be held on Tuesday. Stay with TOI for all updates:

Italy 'shocked' by death of Shinzo Abe: PM
Italian prime minister Mario Draghi said Friday that his country was "shocked by the terrible attack" on Japan's former premier Shinzo Abe, who died in hospital after being shot at a campaign event. "Italy is shocked by this terrible attack that hits Japan and its free democratic debate," he said in a message of condolence. (AFP)

The hospital that tried to save him said he died at 5.03pm (0803 GMT), about five-and-a-half hours after Abe was shot. A doctor said the former Japan PM had bled to death from two deep wounds, one on the right side of his neck. He had no vital signs when he was brought in. (Reuters)
