Rashbehari is a Kolkata district constituency falling under the Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha seat. It is a fully urban constituency in southern Kolkata, encompassing upscale and middle-class residential areas.
The seat is named after Rashbehari Avenue — one of south Kolkata's principal thoroughfares — and is known for its educated, cosmopolitan electorate with a significant presence of professionals.
In 2021, TMC's Debasish Kumar won the seat by a margin of over 21,000 votes against BJP's retired Lieutenant General Subrata Saha. TMC polled approximately 53 per cent of the vote, while the BJP secured around 36 per cent. The INC came third with about 8 per cent.
In 2016, TMC also won the seat, continuing the party's dominance in this part of Kolkata. The constituency had alternated between TMC and INC historically, but since 2011, TMC had held it firmly.
The constituency's educated swing-voter base makes it one of the more competitive seats in south Kolkata.
