Congress President Election: Gehlot camp brands Pilot traitor, won’t let him be CM

After over an hour-long meeting with Sonia Gandhi at her residence in Delhi, Ashok Gehlot said that he will not contest the Congress presidential poll and the issue of Rajasthan chief ministership will be decided by her. Meanwhile, former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot met Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday night and said he discussed the events in the state in detail and expressed his sentiments on the situation. Hectic discussions on to resolve crisis ahead of Congress presidential poll

The discussions are mostly one-on-one, party insiders said on Thursday, a day of many meetings. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik in Jodhpur House. K C Venugopal, also party general secretary, called on Sonia Gandhi at her residence. And senior leader A K Antony is learnt to have met Tariq Anwar at Kerala House.

Rajasthan to get new CM soon: Venugopal

Amid hectic parleys and flying visits between Jaipur and Delhi, AICC general secretary in-charge of organisation KC Venugopal said Rajasthan will have a new CM soon. "There is no drama in Rajasthan. Everything will be clear in a day or two, and you will know who is going to be the new CM," he said in Malappuram, Kerala. The party is going ahead with the AICC presidential poll in a most-democratic manner, he said.

Gehlot to meet Sonia today, says ‘issues will be sorted soon’

As the Congress leadership continues to grope for a candidate to support in the election for party president, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said the party works under its chief Sonia Gandhi and all issues will be sorted out soon.
