In a relief to rebel Shiv Sena lawmakers, the Supreme Court Monday kept in abeyance the disqualification proceedings before the Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly till July 11 and sought responses to pleas by rebel MLAs questioning the legality of notices seeking their disqualification. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and J B Pardiwala said,"we cannot pass that order as that would create unnecessary complications. If anything illegal happens, you (MVA) can always move SC."

As a desperate measure, MVA government through Devadatt Kamat said if the disqualification proceedings are put in abeyance, then there should not be any floor test in the assembly.

Uddhav redistributed portfolios of ministers in his cabinet on Monday. He handed over portfolios of 9 ministers, who are camping in Guwahati to other ministers. The list is as follows:

Subhash Desai has been given charge of urban development, which was earlier handled by ousted party leader Eknath Shinde. In addition, Desai has also been entrusted with the job to handle MSRDC earlier held by Shinde. Anil Parab will takeover water supply and sanitation held by Gulabrao Patil. And rural ministry earlier held by Ambhaji Desai has been given over to Sanjay Bansod. Dadaji Bhuse has been given the portfolios of Agriculture and ex- servicemen. Sandipan Bhumre’s portfolios of Employment Guarantee, Horticulture are all to be handled by Shankar Gadakh. Uday Samant’s portfolio of Higher & Technical Education has been handed over to Aditya Thackeray. Similarly the portfolios handled by rebel ministers of state Shambhuraje Desai, Rajendra Yedravkar, Abdul Sattar, Bachchu Kadu have been redistributed over to Vishwajeet Kadam, Satej Patil, Aditi Tatkare and Prasad Tanpure.
