Jagiroad (SC) assembly election results 2026: BJP’s Pijush Hazarika wins

Jagiroad is one of the 126 Assembly constituencies in Assam. It is a Scheduled Caste (SC)-reserved seat located in the Morigaon district and, following the 2023 delimitation, is now part of the Kaziranga Lok Sabha constituency (formerly under the Nowgong Lok Sabha constituency).In the 2026 Assembly elections, BJP’s Pijush Hazarika won with a margin of 93,584 votes against Congress’s Sri Bubul Das.In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,38,898 registered voters, with 1,99,195 valid votes cast.Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Pijush Hazarika won the seat with 1,06,643 votes. Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Swapan Kumar Mandal finished second with 77,239 votes, losing by a margin of 29,404 votes.In the 2016 Assembly elections, Jagiroad had 2,01,643 electors, with 1,71,965 valid votes recorded. BJP’s Pijush Hazarika won with 94,550 votes, defeating INC candidate Bibekananda Dalai, who secured 66,224 votes.
