Jagatdal election results 2026: Dr. Rajesh Kumar of BJP wins against Somenath Shyam Ichini of AITC

Dr. Rajesh Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Jagatdal Assembly Constituency No. 106, defeating Somenath Shyam Ichini of the All India Trinamool Congress.Jagatdal is an assembly seat in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal (No. 132). It forms part of No. 15 Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency and comprises Ward Nos. 18-35 of Bhatpara Municipality plus gram panchayats like Kogachi I & II, Mamudpur, and Panpur Keutia from Barrackpore I CD block.This urban-industrial seat near Kolkata has around 200,000+ electors. It features jute mills, residential areas, and high voter participation typical of suburban North 24 Parganas.In the 2021 West Bengal legislative assembly elections, Somnath Shyam (AITC) won with 87,030 votes (48per cent share), defeating BJP's Arindam Bhattacharya (68,666 votes, 38per cent) by 18,364 votes.
