Exit Poll Results 2024 Live: Over 4,100 candidates in fray in Maharashtra assembly polls
This year, a total of 4,136 candidates are contesting the Maharashtra assembly elections, up from 3,239 in 2019. Among these, 2,086 are independent candidates, with over 150 constituencies seeing rebels from both the Mahayuti and MVA alliances running against their party’s official nominees.
As of October 30, the updated voter registry shows 9,70,25,119 registered voters. Of these, 5,00,22,739 are male, 4,69,96,279 are female, and 6,101 are transgender voters. Additionally, there are 6,41,425 voters with disabilities (PwD), and 1,16,170 service voters from the armed forces. This election featured 1,00,186 polling booths, an increase from the 96,654 booths in the 2019 assembly elections.
