Saurav Sikdar of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Dum Dum Uttar Assembly constituency, defeating Chandrima Bhattacharya of the All India Trinamool Congress.
Dum Dum Uttar is a general category constituency in North 24 Parganas and is part of the Dum Dum Lok Sabha seat. It covers North Dum Dum Municipality and New Barrackpur Municipality, forming a fully urban profile on Kolkata’s northern fringe. In the 2026 election, sitting TMC MLA and senior state minister Chandrima Bhattacharya contested against BJP’s Saurav Sikdar.
In 2021, Bhattacharya won the seat with 95,465 votes, defeating BJP's Dr Archana Majumdar by 28,499 votes. In 2016, the seat was held by CPI(M)'s Tanmoy Bhattacharya before Chandrima Bhattacharya reclaimed it for TMC in 2021. As a state minister, Chandrima Bhattacharya brings considerable incumbency advantage and profile to this contest.
