After taking the oath as Maharashtra's Chief Minister for the third time, Devendra Fadnavis reaffirmed his commitment to the state's development. Speaking at the ceremony, he said, “In the last 2.5 years, we have worked for the development of Maharashtra, and from here too, we will work for the development of Maharashtra. We will not stop now; the direction and speed remain the same, only our roles have changed. We will take decisions for the betterment of Maharashtra. We want to complete the works that we mentioned in our manifesto.”
Fadnavis’ statement emphasized continuity in governance and the intention to build on the progress made so far, with an eye on fulfilling the promises made in the party's manifesto. The remarks also reflected the government's determination to maintain momentum in its development agenda.
Shortly after taking oath as Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis signed an order to provide Rs 5 lakh in monetary assistance from the Chief Minister Medical Relief Fund. The financial aid is meant to support the bone marrow transplant treatment of Pune resident Chandrakant Shankar Kurhade.

On Thursday, Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra at a ceremony held at Mumbai's Azad Maidan. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath to both leaders.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the new Mahayuti government. Fadnavis, who previously served as Maharashtra CM from 2014-2019 and as Deputy CM under the outgoing Mahayuti government, will now lead the state once again.
The event was attended by a host of prominent political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Key Chief Ministers such as Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Nitish Kumar of Bihar, Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh, and Pramod Sawant of Goa, along with other leaders, were also present.
Additionally, a number of prominent personalities from the world of entertainment attended the ceremony. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Madhuri Dixit were among those seen at the event.
The long-standing uncertainty regarding the state's leadership was resolved when Fadnavis, Shinde, and Pawar met Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Wednesday to formally stake their claim to form the Mahayuti government.
At a legislature party meeting held at Vidhan Bhawan, BJP's central observer Vijay Rupani announced Fadnavis as the unanimous choice for the BJP legislature party leader.
