Dalgaon is an assembly constituency in Assam's Darrang district, part of the Darrang-Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency. It encompasses rural development blocks like Bechimari, Dalgaon-Sialmari, and parts of Kalaigaon and Mangaldai, dominated by Muslim-majority agrarian communities.In 2026 assembly elections, AIUDF's Mazibur Rahman won with a margin of 28,880 votes against independent candidate Aynul Hoque, defeating BJP’s Krishna Saha as well as Azizur Rahman of the Rajjor Dal.AIUDF's Mazibur Rahman won decisively in 2021 with 118,341 votes against INC's Ilias Ali (62,959 votes). INC's Ilias Ali previously held the seat in 2016 (76,607 votes, margin 2,320 over AIUDF) and 2011 (62,280 votes).The area features high population density in rural settings, with significant minority voters supporting turnout rates consistently above 89 percent across numerous polling booths.
