The higher number of tests, with some 92,000 positives in 12 lakh tests on Saturday, made it clear that the charge that India is not testing enough is incorrect, said health secretary Rajesh Bhushan. On Monday, over 9.3 lakh samples were tested, whereas 75,083 new cases were detected and over one lakh recoveries recorded.

Covid-19: Maha minister Varsha Gaikwad tests positive

Maharashtra minister for school education Varsha Gaikwad took to Twitter on Tuesday to inform that she had been detected with novel coronavirus infection. "During the course of my check-up today, I have tested positive for the coronavirus. I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I request everyone who has come in my contact to be careful and follow protocol," she tweeted.
