India registered the highest single-day jump of 86,432 new coronavirus cases taking the national caseload past 40-lakh mark on Saturday. Maharashtra alone accounted for over 20,000 new cases. With 1,089 more deaths, the cumulative toll reached 69,561. Stay with TOI for all updates.

The Director of New Delhi Municipal Council's (NDMC) Covid-19 cell and three other employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, a senior official said on Saturday."The Covid-19 cases are again coming to the NDMC headquarter. To fight against the Covid-19, the scientists have identified a small neutralising antibody, a so-called nanobody, that has the capacity to block SARS-CoV-2 from entering human cells.The study, published in the journal Nature Communications, suggests that this nanobody has the potential to be developed as an antiviral treatment against Covid-19.
