As the number of coronavirus cases crossed the 9-lakh mark today, the Health Ministry said that 86 per cent of the total active cases were recorded in 10 states of the country.

Seven Hyderabadis and one person from Delhi who were operating a racket, by illegally selling antiviral medicine Remdesivir, Actemra (400 mg and 80 mg) and Fabiflu Tablets, rapid testing kits, which have been extensively used while treating Covid-19 patients, to needy persons at exorbitant prices were arrested.
The sale of these medicines to individuals are prohibited as they are prescribed only for sale to hospitals or institutions. Covifer (Remdesivir) whose MRP is Rs 5,400 is sold by the accused in black market for Rs 30,000- Rs 40,000. Similarly, Actemra(Tocilizumab)-400mg injection whose MRP is 40,000 is sold for Rs 90,000- Rs 1,00,000.

The HRD ministry on Tuesday announced guidelines for online classes by schools and recommended a cap on duration and the number of sessions in a day for students. The guidelines have been framed by the ministry, following concerns raised by parents about schools conducting online classes like regular schools, which has increased children's screen time after the Covid-19 pandemic mandated a shift from classroom teaching to online learning as schools continue to remain shut for over four months.

All government offices, except those providing essential services and banks, markets and shops would remain closed during weekends -- Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am – across Gautam Buddh Nagar, officials said on Tuesday.District Magistrate Suhas L Y said new guidelines have been issued by the Uttar Pradesh government with respect to weekend restrictions and they will be applicable in Gautam Buddh Nagar henceforth, according to an official statement.
