With an increase of 10,667 cases and 380 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Covid-19 count in India has reached 3,43,091 on Tuesday. The spike in cases is lower than the 11,502 registered in the country on Monday and has also stayed below the 11 thousand mark it had been crossing for the past two days in a row. Maha govt hiding 950 Covid-19 deaths from Mumbai, says ex-CM Devendra Fadnavis.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis said, "Some 950 deaths due to COVID-19 are still not reported (in Mumbai). It is a very serious matter and risky as well". "451 deaths have been termed as non-COVID deaths by the death audit committee. However, as per guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), all these deaths had occurred due to COVID-19," the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly alleged.
