More than 78 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs which will receive over 56 lakh additional doses within the next 3 days, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.The Government of India has so far provided nearly 16.54 crore vaccine doses (16,54,93,410) to states and UTs free of cost. In Shahjahanpur's Bahadurganj area, residents are making a beeline for a Peepal tree after being declared Covid positive.About half a dozen members from two families who have tested positive are now lying under the Peepal tree for a dose of oxygen. Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Roshanlal Varma reached the area and met with the members. Expressing anger over the state of affairs in health care, he called up district officials on Saturday and asked them to shift the patients to hospitals. (IANS)

Ladakh's Covid-19 cases cross 14,000-mark; death toll rises 144
Ladakh's Covid-19 tally climbed to 14,086 with 117 fresh cases, while the death toll mounted to 144 as one more patient succumbed to the disease, officials said on Sunday.The number of active cases in the union territory, however, dropped to 1,400 as 166 more patients were recovered, the officials said quoting a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services.
