The physical state and expertise of the drivers has to be checked regularly at the check posts.If possible,a cop should be allotted to every bus station during late nights. Registration of details and status of journey should be made compulsory for every woman who is travelling over long distances by using a government database.The drivers.if found drunk,should be castigated.

Educate the masses regarding gender issues. Bring some sex education. Short term measures could be using cctv cameras or a female armed constable in buses... paid by the operator. Should never segregate men and women .. that will create more sexual repression in society.

Separate buses should be maintained for women and strict rules for Drivers are to be prescribed. In any case it is the responsibility of Driver or TT to take care of wrong doings.

Prosecute the Driver for assault and negligent driving along with charges for not performing duties. And set and example for the same including advertising about the incident and the actions taken. Then only things will improve. Include the performance linked bonus payout with the satisfaction score taken from commuters for any further further increase in the salary of drivers and conductors making them financially liable to the commuters for their actions. Situation will automatically improve.

it's been high time when we depended on 'authorities' for safeguarding the dignity of women. and neither it be expected of them, of course. because, in a country that has become infamous for corruption from the grass-root level; a nation where a tormented girl isn't spared even at places where she is expected protection; where the wealthy, though convicted, slips away like an eel, the only path through the dark that the matriarchal society can see is standing up for their own cause, own rights. there have been constant talks round the corner of beefing up of security in buses by installing CCTV cameras, policemen in civil, etc. but i would prefer some other ways that might stand out among all of them. i propose for private martial training camps(as nothing can be expected out of the govt.), that would at least ensure that women are not considered "ablaa". it would give them a confidence not to give up before going down. proposal of buses exclusively meant for women, with drivers and their assistants who are shortlisted as govt. employees with records of their bio-data. of late, many apps have been launched in the social media, where a woman can list out few of her near and dear ones whom she can send an SOS whenever she senses trouble. she is the form of mother earth who symbolizes tolerance, she is also represented as Mother Durga, who is known for the demolition of the evil. this other side of hers, needs to be awaken now.

Women want to get the best of both world, which is difficult to provide.Ever since they came out of their house and stopped delivering children and started earning and rub shoulders with men, their problems started.Authority has no business to protect only the fair sex!Majority are earning hence they can keep their husband as body guard or keep some one as is the practice with our celebrities.
