The tale of Moses parting the Red Sea has long been a folklore believed by many. Recounted in the Book of Exodus, the story describes the Israelites' escape from slavery in Egypt.While Moses' tale is remembered as one of bravery and saviour, a new tale recently emerged online, sending many into shock. In a video going viral on social media apps, an African pastor claimed he can part the Red Sea like Prophet Moses.Dressed in a white robe, he asked his followers to keep reading from the Holy Bible as he ventured into the sea with a stick in his hand. In the clip, he ran towards the incoming waves while one of his followers read the Bible verses bent on his knees.However, soon, the pastor turned around and tried running back to safety as the waves crashed over him. In the end, he abandoned the attempt and fled in fear.

The tale of Moses parting the Red Sea

Trapped at the Red Sea by the Pharaoh's pursuing army, Moses, at God's command stretched out his staff. A strong wind blew all night, parting the water and creating a dry path for the Israelites to walk through safely. While the Egyptian army followed them into the seabed, the next morning God caused the Egyptians' chariots to get stuck. Once everyone had crossed, Moses lowered his staff and the walls of water crashed down, destroying the entire Egyptian army.
