CBI probe sought in Supreme Court over ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ campaign, fake advocates

Founder Abhijeet Dipke Alleges Crackdown On Cockroach Janta Party After Massive Social Media Buzz
.
A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a CBI investigation into the alleged activities of the so-called “Cockroach Janta Party” and the operation of fake advocates purportedly linked to the group. The plea comes amid a growing political controversy surrounding the viral digital campaign “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP). The campaign, which emerged last week, rapidly gained traction online through memes and commentary centred on issues such as unemployment, education policy and alleged examination paper leaks. The trend surfaced following a controversy over remarks allegedly made by CJI Surya Kant during the hearing of a plea seeking senior designation for a lawyer.Meanwhile, the CJP website was taken down on Saturday, prompting founder Abhijeet Dipke to accuse the government of “dictatorial behaviour” through a post on X.Dipke claimed that nearly 10 lakh people had signed up as members of the platform, which has rapidly gained traction among millennials and Gen Z users. The organisation had recently launched an online campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged systemic failures in the education sector and the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy.
Dipke also claimed he had received death threats following the campaign and alleged that, instead of taking action against those responsible for examination irregularities, authorities were targeting the satirical movement itself.According to posts shared through backup social media handles, the movement said it had crossed “one million registered Cockroaches” within a week, while its Instagram accounts had amassed millions of followers before access was lost.
