'Dignity? What's that?': Trump reveals Melania's laundry secret, internet erupts
The President of the United States of America, the country with the largest economy in the world, is expected to have a personality so poised and experienced that none can match up. But Donald Trump, a person who has heavily trolled his predecessors as "Sleepy Joe Biden" and "Divisive Barack Obama" is now on a destructive path to create a similar title for himself.
At 79, Trump is the oldest President to ever take the oath and while he would like the world to believe anything but, his age is showing. It's in the way he dozes off during meetings and goes off-topic in his speeches. If his Christmas speech could be swept under the carpet as a serotonin-induced faux pas, he has really put his foot in the mouth with his speech to voters at Rocky Mount, North Carolina on December 19th, 2025.
While recounting his version of the FBI's 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago residence, he ended up talking about Melania's 'panties'. Reflecting on the high-profile search of the resort located in Palm Beach, Florida, he overshared with the crowd: "They went into my wife's closet ... they looked at her drawers."
From there on, what ensued was an eloquent disaster. He droned on and on about his former model wife's habits, revealing that she is extremely organised and likes to keep her lingerie.
"Her undergarments, sometimes referred to as panties, are folded perfect, wrapped. They're, like, so perfect," he began.
"It's a part of the world she came from, I think she steams them," he revealed.
While Trump might be in the dog house with Melania later on, he was quickly positioned to the periphery by netizens who were enraged that he would even talk about something like his wife's lingerie in a speech.
Considering the fact that Americans are not much impressed by Melania anyway, his veering away in the speech about how she steams her briefs raised more than one eyebrows about her personality.
"Only Trump could turn a rant about an FBI search into a creepy TED Talk on Melania's panty-steaming routine. Dignity? What's that?," wrote one user on X.
"This is soooooooo weird! Why he’s on her panties drawers, is he looking for his favourite to wear them?," quipped another.
"I'm sure she disinfects anything he touches," pondered one.
"Is he really the American President. Disgusting, who talks like that about his own wife in public," wrote another disappointed user.
Then, she recently launched the trailer of her documentary 'Melania' which is all set to release in theatres on January 30th, 2026. Rather than sharing her plans for her second term as the first lady and what she intends to do for the people of America, she is off showing her life in the White House.
Sharing such unwanted and extreme details about her, has not only irritated people with Trump but also made them question Melania's behaviour.
In June 2023, Trump was indicted by a federal grand jury over the alleged mishandling of classified documents. He was arrested and arraigned in a Florida federal court, where he pleaded not guilty.
While we might not know more about Trump's thoughts on the raid, the world sure knows how the first lady likes her laundry to be folded now!

Melania and America
Melania Trump is back in action, but her moves are not the ones America is expecting or appreciating. Recently, the first lady went to the Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. to follow the decades-old tradition of Christmas reading. Rather than engaging with the children and showing the illustrations to them, she kept reading with the book faced towards herself. Then, she recently launched the trailer of her documentary 'Melania' which is all set to release in theatres on January 30th, 2026.
